  • 4-layer filter (installed)
  • 4 replacement filters

Full packing list will be confirmed before shipping.

How does the filter work?

Water circulates continuously through a 4-layer filter before it flows out of the spout:

  1. Fine mesh catches hair, food bits and debris.
  2. Activated carbon helps reduce odors and the chlorine taste of tap water.
  3. Ion-exchange resin helps reduce water hardness.
  4. Micro-cotton traps fine particles.

For the freshest water, replace the filter every 2–4 weeks (more often in multi-cat homes). The tracking app reminds you when it’s time.

Sound familiar?

If any of these sound like your home, Purrmeter was made for you.

🚰My cat only drinks from the bathroom faucet.
🤢Our plastic fountain gets slimy within days.
🐾She dips her paw in the bowl before she drinks.
🥣Half a bowl left. Did he drink a lot, or nothing?
🩺The vet asked how much she drinks. I had no idea.
💼I'm out all day and worry the water runs out.

The problem with plastic

Plastic bowls look harmless. Up close, they're not.

Every wash, every lick and every scrub leaves tiny scratches in plastic. Those grooves are almost impossible to clean, so bacteria settle in and build up a slimy film called biofilm.

  • Bacteria & biofilm hide in scratches you can't scrub out
  • Feline chin acne: vets often link plastic dishes to blackheads and bumps on the chin
  • Stale-smelling water: cats have a powerful nose, so "off" water gets skipped and they drink even less

Purrmeter's tank and tray are food-grade 304 stainless steel: smooth, non-porous and easy to wipe clean.

An early warning sign

A change in drinking is often the first clue.

Cats hide illness well. But how much they drink is one of the first things vets ask about, because a change in either direction can point to something worth checking.

↑ Drinking more

Than usual, for no clear reason

Increased thirst is a sign vets look for with conditions like diabetes, kidney disease and an overactive thyroid.

↓ Drinking less

Than usual, day after day

Low intake can mean dehydration and a higher risk of urinary crystals and stones.

Purrmeter shows the trend in the app, so you can spot a change early and call your vet with real numbers instead of a guess.

Purrmeter does not diagnose or treat disease. Always talk to your vet about changes in your cat's drinking.

What the experts say

Hydration matters more than most cat parents think

“Cats have kept their ancestors’ low thirst drive.”

— Royal Canin

“Some cats only like to drink running water.”

— Royal Canin

“Causes of polydipsia include chronic kidney disease, hyperthyroidism, and diabetes mellitus.”

— VetsterPolydipsia = excessive thirst.

“There may be an association between using plastic food and water dishes and chin acne…”

— VCA Animal Hospitals

"Is your cat drinking more than usual? Or less?"

It's one of the first questions vets ask, especially about older cats. And most of us can't answer it. Cats are wired to hide when something's off, and a water bowl that isn't empty tells you almost nothing. So we guess. Every day.

🥣

The bowl lies to you

Half full could mean your cat drank a lot, or barely touched it. From the outside it looks exactly the same.

🙈

Cats hide it well

They'll eat, nap and purr on your lap like nothing's wrong. Changes in drinking are easy to miss.

💧

Still water gets ignored

Many cats prefer fresh, moving water, which is why they beg at the faucet and skip the bowl.

Built around cat instinct

Why cats love moving water

In the wild, still water often meant stale water, while running water was fresher and safer. That instinct is still there, which is why so many cats beg at the faucet and ignore the bowl. Purrmeter's faucet-style spout gives them that tap feeling all day long.

  • Faucet-style spout plus a gently flowing surface
  • Big 4L tank: fewer refills
  • Glowing level window to check the water at a glance

🧼

Questions, answered

Will my cat use a stainless steel fountain?

Most cats are drawn to the faucet-style flow right away, but some take a few days. Tip: put Purrmeter where the old bowl used to be and keep the old bowl nearby for the first week.

How does the app know how much my cat drinks?

Purrmeter connects to the tracking app over 2.4GHz Wi-Fi and shows your cat's daily water consumption with a 7-day chart. Evaporation and splashing can affect the number, so treat it as a helpful trend, not a medical measurement.

Which phones does the app work with?

The tracking app works on iPhone and Android and connects to Purrmeter over 2.4GHz Wi-Fi.

How often should I change the water and filter?

For the freshest water, refresh the water every few days, clean the fountain weekly, and replace the filter every 2–4 weeks. The app will remind you.

Is it easy to clean?

Yes. The stainless steel tank and tray lift apart for washing.

What's in the box?

The Purrmeter fountain with pump, faucet-style spout and an installed 4-layer filter, plus 4 replacement filters.

Where should I place the fountain?

On a flat, hard surface. The base measures water by weight, so a thick mat, rug or uneven floor can throw off the readings.

Is it noisy at night?

Switch to Night mode in the app. Water flows when your cat drinks, plus a 20-second refresh every 30 minutes, so it stays quiet the rest of the time.
